How to Enjoy Coaching Youth Soccer #1

So, Why are you coaching?

Did you willingly or reluctantly volunteer?  Did your spouse guilt you into volunteering?  OR Was no one else stepping up and you decided to take on the challenge?    

That was me some years ago, and countless others are like us. I’ve been through this, and I am here to assist you on this journey and help set you up for success; you are not alone.  My name is Ben Massmann, and I am here to be your assistant coach.  I want to remove the burdens of coaching and leave you with the joy and fulfillment of seeing your young players improve and enjoy the game.   

Let’s be honest this is not your full-time job, you already have a full schedule. We have so many competing priorities in our lives that it can be very difficult to fit coaching in on top of everything else without making it a chore.  Coaching soccer should not be a chore, it should be fun!

To make it fun, we need to find time for it.  You already prioritized the rest of the activities in your life, So where does this fit?  If it isn’t high on that list it is probably because it feels like a chore.  And it probably feels like a chore because it takes so much time and work.  I want you to spend a little time with me so that I can save you a lot of time on coaching stuff, because there is a ton of stuff you have to do beyond practices and games.  Let me take some of that burden from you so that you can prioritize other things that you enjoy and take some time for yourself. 

This is the start of my journey providing support for you and I plan on making many posts, videos and tools to help you. This is only the first on our journey, together. I’m starting this series based on my struggles, but please drop a comment below or reach out to me directly and let me know what you are dealing with so that I can help.
